colour shape and sound has psychological effects whether man made or natural.

Kandinsky was influenced by music to create his pieces of art. He hoped to discover a universal correspondence between form and colour, embodied in the equation blue=circle red=square and yellow=triangle.




Red is associated with fire, violence and Warfare but also love and passion. It has the physical effect of raising blood pressure and enhancing human metabolism.

Squares are the most common shape as they are what people encounter on a daily basis. They make use feel safe and comfortable but also their uniformity can also create a conservative or rigid affect.

 talking over each other gives a frustrated affect due to our brain having to choose which sound we concentrate on.
overall this represent power

Yellow is considered a sharp colour and related to sunshine but is also associated with youth and optimism.

 Triangles suggest action due to the corners pointing different directions; they can also suggest growth and reaching the top.

 natural sounds such as birds chirping gives us a reassuring affect as for thousands years when birds sang gave us the impression we are safe.
this gives all the overall affect of optimism

Blue is often associated with sadness and represents calmness and responsibility.

 Circles are the least common shape in man made objects and are useful for focusing attention due to the closure of the shape, they represent softness and completion
sounds with 12 cycles per minute gives us a calming affect such as classical music
overall this gives us the feeling of reflection.
